□ アーティストステイトメント

私は、感覚や記憶、人の気配や痕跡が一時的に宿り、

次の時間へと手渡されていくための容れ物となる作品をつくっている。

これまで私は、古道具や古布、米など、

かつて誰かの日常にあった素材を用いたインスタレーションを通して、

場所や物に内包された時間や記憶を可視化してきた。

それらを「過去の記録」としてではなく、

見過ごされ、忘れ去られそうになった素材が、

もう一度立ち上がり、人々にささやきかける可能性として扱われている。

現在は、植物や天体、光や風といった身近な自然や、

子どもの純粋な反応や視点に触れるなかで生まれる新鮮な驚きや気づきを起点に、

紙を素材とした小さな作品を主に制作している。

それらは完成された記号ではなく、感覚が立ち上がった直後の記憶として置かれている。

また、紙という素材は、瞬間の感覚を固定するためだけでなく、

人の手を介し、痕跡を残しながら、

時間や記憶、思考を他者へと手渡してきた、

軽やかな器であると考えている。

インスタレーションから小さな作品へと

表現のスケールは変化してきたが、

私の制作は一貫して、

いのちや時間、記憶や感覚がどのように立ち上がり、

どのように次へと渡されていくのかを問い続けている。

□ Artist Statement

I create works that function as vessels—containers in which sensations, memories, human presence, and traces temporarily reside, before being handed over to the next moment in time.

In earlier projects, I produced installations using materials such as old tools, worn textiles, and rice—objects that once belonged to someone’s everyday life. Through these works, I sought to make visible the time and memories embedded within places and things. Rather than treating these materials as records of the past, I approached them as elements capable of rising again—materials on the verge of being overlooked or forgotten, yet still able to quietly whisper to those who encounter them.

In recent years, my practice has shifted toward smaller works made primarily with paper. These works are inspired by close, everyday experiences: plants and celestial bodies, light and wind, and the unfiltered perceptions of a child. I begin from moments of fresh surprise and awareness that arise through such encounters. The resulting works are not fixed symbols, but are placed as memories—forms that hold a sensation at the very moment it comes into being.

For me, paper is not merely a means of fixing a fleeting moment. Through the touch of the human hand and the accumulation of traces, paper has long served as a lightweight vessel through which time, memory, and thought are passed from one person to another.

Although the scale of my expression has shifted—from immersive installations to intimate works—my practice has remained consistent. I continue to ask how life, time, memory, and sensation come into being, and how they are carried forward and handed on to what comes next.
